What’s Warpainters Collective all about?
Warpainters Collective will bring all the best and hard-to-find hobbyist brands together for purchase in the UK. With a heavy focus on painting, we will start by providing with a few quality brands that will let us expand into more and more as time goes on. The eventual aim is to establish a physical store that has the most comprehensive selection of hobby painting products in the UK. This store will allow customers to try any paint or product, receive tuition and even hire our in-house artists to fulfil their hobby needs.
Corvus Belli
The Team at Warpainters are massive fans of Corvus Belli (CB) products. Both the partners are ‘Warcors’ (community promoters) for CB and have chosen their games to be the sole miniature products sold on the Warpainters website. The Warpainters team has noticed that the availability of Corvus Belli products in the UK has declined in the last year and, as we are passionate about the games they produce, we have decided to support their existing and upcoming product lines along side our slate of hobby products.
The Partnership
Warpainters Collective is a partnership business set up by Sebastian Komlosy & Keith Shutler that combines their love for the wargaming industry with their passion for growing said industry through retail and events.
Keith Shutler
Keith was born in Jersey CI and moved to the UK mainland in 1999, he has been gaming since before the beginning of this century, starting like most with Games Workshop products and DnD. Around 2005 he found a skirmish type game called Infinity, from a small model manufacturer called Corvus Belli. And since then he has been hooked on the game, community, and the friends he has made along the way, he is one of the first Warcors and can be found demoing Infinity most years at salute and running tournaments at various locations to the west of London, and can be found being decimated in most tournaments
Keith has a long term partner, Nikki, and they have 4 children, (and he somehow still manages to play games). Outside of the gaming community he has worked for 25 years for the same company and is a Master Data Manager.... Don't call him Master!
Other interests include reading Fantasy and Sci Fi, most Movies, TV Anime, Manga and comics and most types of music. And Guinness.
Sebastian Komlosy
Born in 1984, Sebastian grew up during the heyday of wargaming. His hobby journey began at age 10 when he painted his first miniature from the now infamous Space Crusade board game. His enthusiasm for painting and wargaming culminated in his first job as a Games Workshop staff member at age 18. His hard-working attitude and passion for the hobby resulted in him receiving management training and looking after a series of stores in the company. During this time he gained experience teaching games and promoting products that would pay dividends in the future. After his time at GW, he spent many years working in the hospitality industry where he gained multiple managerial positions whilst studying courses in Politics, Music Production and Graphic Design. The latter would lead to a 10-year career as a designer, promoter and DJ.
In 2017 Sebastian rediscovered the hobby with the Corvus Belli game Infinity. This game encapsulated his love of sci-fi, anime and tabletop games in one package and soon became an obsession. In 2018 Sebastian was accepted into Corvus Belli’s ‘Warcor’ program and has since built the healthiest Infinity community in the UK, ‘Bucks Infinity Core’, and currently helps test Corvus Belli’s upcoming releases.
The pandemic caused a shift in profession for Sebastian, after helping a fellow entrepreneur to build a local game store and building his own business as a professional painter and streamer he now believes the time is right to start a retail project of his own. With the help of his fiance Katie, his friend Keith and the support of the amazing people at Corvus Belli, he knows the future can only be bright.
