No military force is more aptly named than Next Wave, because, whether or not it really reflects what the future holds for humanity, it is utterly unlike any other fighting force in the Sphere. It is part of the Combined Army, and like all the other forces integrated in it, it is as capable as eager to act autonomously. Next Wave is made up of veterans of the wars on Paradiso, criminals and resistance fighters from the days of occupation, and humans with alien enhancements, a fearsome combination that is very distinctive of this organization. Nevertheless, the technological contributions of other civilizations within the Hegemony are what set Next Wave apart, turning it into a force as powerful and effective as terrifying and strange to human eyes.
A rampage of frenzied roars and unbridled violence provide the power to sweep away anyone. Thus, Next Wave's first armored cavalry unit was created, a perfect example of the potential that can be achieved through collaboration with other Hegemonic species, in this case victory achieved with blood-stained teeth and claws.
Since the dawn of time and across all species in the universe, there have been certain people who have dared to face great danger to witness and report on violent events of great historical significance. It's a necessary effort to make sense of all that pain and suffering so that it can be told and remembered. Examples of this can be found among all known species, but rarely is it as meaningful as in the Ur Hegemony. No other civilization has so many news agencies, nor ones that are so objective, because for Evolved Intelligence they are the yardstick that allows it to continuously improve its society.
